About the role

The Kgatelopele Municipality invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Budget & MSCOA Implementation Officer in the Budget and Treasury Office. The role involves ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, aligning budgets with the Municipal Standard Chart of Accounts (mSCOA), and supporting the implementation of GRAP principles within a municipal environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and municipal financial regulations.
• Coordinate and oversee transactional alignment with mSCOA and implement GRAP principles.
• Compile and facilitate IDP/Budget processes and related reports.
• Verify availability of funds within a vote before procurement.
• Complete statutory questionnaires, returns and financial reporting for submission to authorities.
• Assist with implementation of financial regulations and policies for the budget and treasury office.
• Compile, monitor and capture budgets in the financial system according to procedures.
• Maintain adherence to legislation deadlines and timeframes.
• Monitor expenditure against allocated amounts and reconcile cashbook payments with bank statements.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Financial Management or Accounting (NQF Level 6).
• Minimum three years of relevant budget and reporting experience.
