Backend Software Engineer – Golf Club Management Platform

About the role

Versant is building the next‑generation Golf Club Management platform and needs a Backend Software Engineer to extend its BRS Premier product. You will join a team of experienced engineers, work on micro‑services that serve hundreds of clubs across Central Europe, and gain end‑to‑end exposure from database design to production deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and improve backend micro‑services, adding new features, refactoring code, and handling deprecation.
• Write clean, well‑tested, secure, and efficient Java code that meets the Engineering Code Bar.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle: scoping, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and maintenance.
• Provide operational support, investigate production issues, and understand system behaviour in real time.
• Collaborate with peers through code reviews, daily stand‑ups, and team discussions, actively seeking feedback.
• Work with stakeholders to translate business and customer value into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Foundational experience with Java or a similar object‑oriented language.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot and related Spring ecosystem.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, including query optimisation and schema design.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code and a willingness to learn from feedback.
