Backend Software Engineer – Golang

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with strong Go expertise to build secure, cloud‑native services that power our cyber‑security platform. The role is hybrid/remote based in Somerset, South Africa and offers the chance to work with AI‑enabled tooling and modern DevOps practices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust Go applications using cloud technologies.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA and Operations to define requirements and deliver secure features.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce security best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex issues with a focus on data protection.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliable production deployments.
• Stay up‑to‑date with cyber‑security trends and share insights with the team.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of professional Go development experience.
• Strong background in building RESTful APIs or gRPC services.
• Team‑player with a security‑first mindset and proactive communication.
• Self‑driven learner comfortable with AI‑driven development tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

• Messaging/queuing systems such as NATS JetStream
• Monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana
