Audit Manager - Financial Statement Audit

About the role

PwC's Private division is looking for an Audit Manager in Johannesburg with a strong auditing background and experience on large clients. The role sits at management level within the audit and assurance practice, which provides independent assessments of financial statements, internal controls and other assurable information, and issues an auditor's report. The manager leads by coaching, developing and motivating the team, and takes ownership of projects from planning through to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit engagements, including taking ownership of projects' planning, budgeting, execution and completion
• Manage special projects, monitor costs and budgets, and manage work in progress and debtors
• Coach and develop staff, mentor team members and use work reviews to deepen their expertise
• Build client relationships and support business development
• Ensure compliance with PwC audit methodology and uphold professional standards, the firm's code of conduct and independence requirements
• Write reports, roll out technology and address issues with clients and stakeholders

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualification
• Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles
• 3+ years of audit experience
• Experience on large clients in the industry

Required skills

• Sound leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• IFRS experience and specialist industry knowledge
• Computer literacy with all PwC software
• Ability to market PwC services and build contacts in the marketplace
• Attention to detail, time management and multitasking
