Artisan Assistant

About the role
The Artisan Assistant supports Sandvik Mining’s artisans in maintaining and repairing mining equipment. Working in a workshop environment, you will help ensure machines are ready for operation and assist with both scheduled and unexpected breakdowns.
Key responsibilities
- Assist artisans with service and breakdown activities.
- Perform visual inspections of machines and report conditions.
- Clean the workshop, machines, tools, and equipment.
- Follow workshop layout and safety procedures.
- Relay messages between operations and provide feedback on machine status.
- Use correct tools, report hazards, and participate in incident investigations.
- Support both scheduled maintenance and unplanned repairs.
Required profile
- Grade 12 / N3 Technical Qualification or equivalent.
- Computer literacy with ability to work with Excel spreadsheets.
- English proficiency.
- First Aid Level 1 (advantageous).
- Experience in a manufacturing workshop or with mechanised mining equipment.
- Physical ability to work in a workshop or underground environment.
- Team‑oriented mindset.
