Field Service Technician

About the role

We are seeking two experienced Field Service Technicians to be based in Boksburg and Lydenburg. The role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment on underground mining sites, ensuring reliability and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose vehicles and electrical systems on site.
• Perform electrical repairs, maintenance, installations, and OEM work up to the junction box.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and documentation of control, safety, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain accurate records of all work and manage spare parts proactively.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other departments to resolve complex issues.
• Provide training, mentorship, and safety compliance guidance to site personnel.
• Adhere to all mine rules, procedures, and safety standards.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 certificate.
• Completed apprenticeship with a recognized Trade Test Certificate (Section 13 or 26).
• At least 3 years experience as a diesel/auto electrician or millwright in an underground mechanised mining environment.
• At least 3 years experience maintaining LHDs, dump trucks, drill rigs, and roof bolters underground.
• Valid Certificate of Fitness (Red Ticket) and a Code 08 driver’s licence.
