Application Support Specialist III (BI Applications)

About the role

TFG South Africa is looking for an Application Support Specialist III in the Western Cape. The specialist provides advanced operational support for application solutions, manages more complex incidents, problems, changes and service requests, offers advanced technical solutions, liaises with vendors and mentors junior team members. The role focuses on BI applications.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert operational support, including root cause analysis, incident management and SLA achievement
• Manage critical incidents, problems, changes and service requests
• Offer expert technical solutions and configuration
• Liaise with senior vendors and give technical advice to team members
• Ensure SLA achievement and take part in projects
• Maintain and enhance application performance and ensure compliance with best practices and standards
• Support BI applications: track and manage service requests, continuously monitor BI systems and applications
• Work with BI developers, data analysts and other IT teams to identify and resolve issues and improve system functionality
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies and areas for improvement in BI applications

Required profile

• A relevant IT qualification
• 3 years of relevant experience in application support
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail
• Preferred: candidates from designated groups under the Employment Equity Act

Required skills

• Proficiency in SQL and database management
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI or QlikView
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
• Microsoft Analysis Server experience
• Application support, troubleshooting, software configuration and systems integration
