Application Support Specialist II

About the role

TFG Infotec is hiring an Application Support Specialist II in the Western Cape. The role provides operational support for application solutions, manages more complex incidents, problems, changes and service requests, offers technical solutions and liaises with vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert operational support, including root cause analysis, incident management and SLA achievement
• Manage critical incidents, problems, changes and service requests, and offer expert technical solutions and configuration
• Liaise with senior vendors and give technical advice to team members
• Ensure SLA achievement and take part in projects
• Maintain and enhance application performance and ensure compliance with best practices and standards
• Support BI applications: track and manage service requests, monitor BI systems continuously, and work with BI developers, data analysts and other IT teams to resolve issues and improve functionality
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies and areas for improvement in BI applications

Required profile

• A relevant IT qualification
• 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in application support
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail
• Preferred: candidates from designated groups under the Employment Equity Act

Required skills

• Proficiency in SQL and database management
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI or QlikView
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
• Microsoft Analysis Server experience
• Application support, troubleshooting, software configuration and systems integration
