Apparel Store Manager (Secunda)

About the role

The Apparel Store Manager will lead the launch and growth of a new apparel brand, creating an outstanding service culture while overseeing store standards, operational excellence, and stock strategy. The role drives sales targets, manages loss‑prevention, and focuses on repeat customer traffic as a key success metric.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day store operations including sales, after‑sales, stock, merchandising, security and administration.
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of Team Leaders, Sales Consultants and Associates through regular meetings, coaching and performance reviews.
• Maintain store appearance, planogram integrity, signage and seasonal visual standards.
• Control pricing, promotions, discounts and donation processes.
• Oversee loss‑prevention across the stock cycle, including RFID tag controls and shrinkage mitigation.
• Monitor inventory levels, assets and expenses, ensuring accurate stock ledgers and variance reporting.
• Produce daily, weekly and monthly operational reports and presentations.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, security and company policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in a retail or service‑oriented environment with direct team management.
• Demonstrated experience in apparel, clothing or fashion retail.
• Strong understanding of retail procedures, loss‑prevention, health & safety (OHSACT) and operational controls.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with retail POS systems.
• Experience using RFID loss‑prevention technology.
• Knowledge of inventory management software and stock reconciliation.
