Analytics Architect

About the role

TrueNorth is looking for an Analytics Architect to own the Business Intelligence and visualisation workstream from the Gold layer of the Fabric Data Warehouse to the business user. You will transform clean, modelled data into semantic models, dashboards and reports that drive real‑world decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build Power BI semantic models directly on the Gold layer, including measures, KPIs, calculated columns and row‑level security.
• Create high‑impact dashboards and reports that prioritise insight, storytelling flow and user experience.
• Develop reusable report components and templates to ensure consistency across engagements.
• Conduct discovery sessions, gather requirements, run iterative reviews and support UAT with end users.
• Maintain BI delivery standards such as naming conventions, model versioning, documentation and governance.
• Collaborate closely with the Data Delivery Architect, feeding data‑quality issues back upstream.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and analytics.
• Expert‑level proficiency with Power BI (semantic model design, report authoring, deployment pipelines, workspace management).
• Deep command of DAX, including measures, calculated tables, time‑intelligence and performance optimisation.
• Hands‑on experience consuming Fabric Data Warehouse endpoints (OneLake, Direct Lake) and solid understanding of star‑schema design, relationships, RLS and model tuning.
• Proven ability to translate raw data into clear visual narratives and to lead requirements workshops with non‑technical stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of Power Query (M) and sufficient SQL/T‑SQL to validate the Gold layer.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently with customers in a professional manner.
