Admiral Nurse – Dementia Care Specialist

About the role

The Admiral Nurse position offers a unique opportunity for a Registered Nurse to specialise in dementia care within the Orkney community. Working collaboratively with Orkney Health & Care and Dementia UK, you will provide relationship‑centred support to people living with dementia and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, relationship‑centred dementia care to patients and families.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in partnership with multidisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate with Orkney Health & Care and Dementia UK to ensure best practice.
• Provide specialist advice, education, and support to staff and community services.
• Participate in secondments and professional development activities as required.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (NMC‑registered) with current practising licence.
• Demonstrated experience in dementia or relationship‑centred care.
• Ability to work Monday‑Friday office hours, with flexibility for full‑time or part‑time arrangements.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.
