Accountant – Finance Function Owner in Mining & Gas

Based in Centurion, the client is a well‑established investment group with interests in complex operations and growth‑driven projects in the mining and gas sector.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts up to management reporting level.
• Handle journals, reconciliations, and maintain balance‑sheet integrity.
• Run month‑end processes and contribute to financial reporting.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash‑book activities.
• Support budgets, forecasts, and performance analysis.
• Assist with audits and compliance requirements.
• Strengthen financial processes and internal controls.
• Provide financial insights to guide operational decisions.

Required profile

• BCom qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• Completed articles with at least 2 years’ experience, or 3–5 years in a commercial environment.
• Solid understanding of end‑to‑end accounting processes.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Self‑starter with an ownership mindset.
• Industry exposure to mining, energy, gas, or investments is beneficial.
