Account Manager - End User (Mining & Metals)

About the role

Rockwell Automation is hiring an Account Manager for its Mining & Metals end-user business, based in Johannesburg and reporting to the Sales Manager EU. The role promotes the sale of Rockwell Automation solutions, products and services to prospective and existing customers on a defined account list, building long-term relationships and driving profitable growth. It covers overall account coordination, including account planning and forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed the annual sales target by maximising business opportunities at the assigned accounts.
• Develop and implement effective account plans for all assigned accounts.
• Lead and coordinate Rockwell Automation resources to deliver solutions, products and services to customers.
• Identify sales and business opportunities, present quotes and proposals, negotiate and close orders.
• Prepare and present quotes, sales proposals and contracts in line with company policies and standards, with the required approvals.
• Handle objections, manage a pipeline of opportunities and negotiate profitable deals.
• Consult with other functions on pricing, product specifications, warranties and product adaptation.
• Collaborate with other sales teams to expand market reach, cover sales and ensure order fulfilment.
• Share ideas and concepts that showcase Rockwell Automation's capabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in an engineering or technical field, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of sales experience in the industrial automation field.
• Fluent English, verbal and written.
• Ability to acquire new business with existing and new customers.
