Workshop Manager – Mineral Processing Equipment Manufacturing

About the role

The client is a well‑established OEM designer and manufacturer of mineral processing equipment. They are looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to take full responsibility for day‑to‑day operations in a large‑scale, ISO 9001‑certified fabrication facility.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and oversee daily workshop production, from fabrication through final assembly and test‑running.
• Manage and mentor a skilled team of fitters, boilermakers, welders and machine operators.
• Enforce quality control standards in line with ISO 9001 requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management and procurement to meet delivery deadlines.
• Maintain workshop safety, housekeeping and compliance.
• Oversee use and maintenance of overhead cranes, machining and fabrication equipment.
• Control workshop budgets, resource allocation and productivity targets.

Required profile

• Trade qualification (Millwright, Fitter, Boilermaker) or relevant mechanical engineering qualification.
• 5‑8 years’ experience in heavy engineering, fabrication or steel manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management role.
• Experience manufacturing large mechanical equipment for mining or mineral processing is an advantage.
• Own transport and a valid driver’s licence.
