Warehouse Controller

About the role

The Warehouse Controller at AB InBev's Sab Isando depot is responsible for implementing and upholding safety standards, managing the inventory and warehousing function to optimise customer service and meet productivity benchmarks, and implementing standard operating processes in line with DPO standards. The role also covers VLC, ZBB and FLC budgets against annual flexed targets.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the 5S standard and cascade global policies, and implement and design management cycles such as business descriptions, SLAs, process maps and KPI indicators.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, MCRS/MCL routines, and use problem-solving tools (5 Why, PDCA, OPLs, RACI) to improve KPIs and PI results.
• Cascade KPIs and PI targets to individual warehouse employees and monitor achievement.
• Manage inventory: daily counts, inventory and quality policy compliance, destruction and write-off of obsolete products, root-cause analysis of count variances, and reduction of supply chain overheads and stock age.
• Implement the layout (empties, refusal, order picking, repack, finished goods zones), ABC compliance, and location-based inventory system.
• Improve quality standards: cleanliness, pest control, temperature control, product exposure, quality induction, repacking and distribution returns.
• Ensure adherence to picking and sorting standards, including ergonomic layouts, per-man-hour KPIs and random inspections.
• Manage productivity and capacity: labour productivity GOP compliance, sizing simulator, SKAP allocation, capacity utilisation model, and waste and recycling operations.
• Maintain a safe warehouse and track loading/unloading and replenishment metrics.

Required profile

• 3-year relevant degree.
• 3+ years of warehouse and/or logistics experience (advantageous).
• Good interpersonal, planning and communication skills, ability to work under pressure and coach others.

Required skills

• SAP proficiency.
• Highly computer literate (MS Office, Oasis, handheld devices).
