About the role

Liberty is looking for a driven, client-centric Universal Banker in Paarl, Western Cape. The role suits a seasoned banking professional with a proven sales record who thrives in a fast-paced branch environment. The banker builds strong client relationships, identifies opportunities to offer relevant banking products and services, and contributes to the branch's growth while complying with regulatory and compliance frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Engage clients across all banking channels, assess their financial situation and recommend suitable solutions
• Identify sales leads and promote banking products to help meet branch sales targets
• Open, amend, transfer and close client accounts in line with risk controls, KYC, POPIA and FAIS
• Educate clients on banking processes, digital and self-service channels and their rights and obligations under the Code of Banking Practice
• Maintain accurate records, update management information systems and stay compliant with risk, compliance, KYC, POPIA and FAIS requirements

Required profile

• National Certificate or equivalent NQF 5 qualification aligned with FAIS, preferably in banking, financial services, commerce, sales or client service
• Meets the FAIS "Fit and Proper" requirements
• At least 3 to 4 years in branch banking, financial services, contact centre sales or another client-facing sales role
• Proven sales track record, including cross-selling and consistent achievement of sales or growth targets
• Solid understanding of banking products, account opening, application processing and customer acceptance criteria
• Experience in a regulated environment with strict adherence to risk, compliance, KYC, POPIA and FAIS
