Technical Manager

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Technical Manager to lead day‑to‑day technical operations at our Midrand site. The role ensures that products, solutions and services meet quality, safety and performance standards while providing hands‑on support to internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate technical projects from planning through implementation.
• Provide on‑site technical support, troubleshoot complex issues and guide resolution.
• Collaborate with sales, procurement and logistics to evaluate technical requirements and support bids.
• Drive research and development initiatives, test new materials and assess emerging technologies.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation and presentations for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Manage, mentor and evaluate a technical team to achieve performance goals.

Required profile

• Strong analytical ability to interpret technical data and make evidence‑based decisions.
• Proven experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting and risk management.
• Hands‑on technical support experience with a track record of resolving complex problems.
• Exposure to R&D activities such as testing and evaluation of new materials or technologies.
• Demonstrated team‑leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Materials Science, Construction or a related field.
