Team Leader – AVO Department

About the role

The AVO Team Leader will plan, organise and motivate a production team to maximise output while minimising downtime on the glass manufacturing line. The role ensures that all activities follow standard operating procedures, meet quality specifications and align with customer and business standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team to achieve targeted volumes per line and department.
• Monitor and record Short Interval Control data hourly to track progress.
• Ensure cycle times, change‑over times and downtime targets are met or exceeded.
• Detect and respond promptly to deviations to optimise machine availability.
• Participate in problem‑solving initiatives and continuous improvement actions.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping and uphold safety standards.
• Communicate critical information to incoming shifts to avoid production delays.
• Balance order confirmations and manage work‑in‑process control.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Supervisory experience is advantageous.
• Experience in an AVO department or with SAP is a plus.

Required skills

• Glass handling expertise.
• Knowledge of quality systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Familiarity with SAP (advantageous).
