Systems Administrator – Town & Schools

About the role

The Town of Medfield and Medfield Public Schools are seeking a proactive, security‑mindful Systems Administrator to manage and optimise technology operations across a shared municipal and educational environment. This full‑time role ensures a secure, resilient, and integrated digital infrastructure for town departments, public‑safety teams, educators, and students.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Google Workspace for Education Plus with a Zero Trust security model, including least‑privilege access and context‑aware controls.
• Manage Google Vault for legal holds, data retention, and e‑discovery across municipal and school data.
• Maintain and support Active Directory services and related identity management.
• Deploy, configure, and support Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions for staff, teachers, and public‑safety personnel.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical support to town departments, public safety (police, fire, dispatch), educators, and students.
• Monitor system performance, ensure resilience, and implement security patches and updates.

Required profile

• Proactive, security‑focused professional with experience in both municipal and K‑12 educational environments.
• Strong ability to bridge instructional technology needs with municipal operational requirements.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and capacity to manage shared services across multiple stakeholders.
