Software Engineer – Java Backend (FinTech)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Java developer to join a fast‑growing payments FinTech. The role focuses on building high‑performance backend services that process millions of transactions daily, supporting a cloud‑native, enterprise‑grade platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust Java micro‑services using Spring Boot.
• Implement event‑driven architectures with Kafka or RabbitMQ to ensure reliable transaction processing.
• Optimize code for concurrency, JVM performance, and low‑latency throughput.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on API design, resilience, idempotency and fault‑tolerance.
• Participate in cloud deployment pipelines on AWS, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS and provide production support.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work in high‑stakes, regulated environments.
• Proven track record of delivering high‑performance backend systems.

Required skills

• Core Java (11/17/21), OOP, collections, generics, streams, concurrency.
• Spring Boot, Spring Core/DI, Spring MVC/REST.
• Microservices, REST APIs, resilience, idempotency, fault tolerance.
• Kafka, RabbitMQ (or similar messaging).
• SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and exposure to Redis or similar NoSQL/cache.
• AWS, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, CI/CD pipelines.
• JUnit, Mockito, integration and API/contract testing.
• Maven or Gradle, Git.
