About the role
The Municipality of Hantam is seeking a Supervisor to manage sport grounds, parks, gardens, and cemeteries in Loeriesfontein. The role involves overseeing waste collection using heavy vehicles, supervising staff, and ensuring health and safety compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and control procedural applications related to parks, gardens, cemeteries and sport fields.
- Operate heavy vehicles (refuse trucks or tractors) during maintenance and waste‑collection activities.
- Supervise personnel, coordinate administrative reporting and ensure optimal use of machinery, tools and materials.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and contribute to the municipality’s performance management system.
Required profile
- Grade 9 or equivalent technical qualification.
- Valid Driver’s Licence Code C and a Professional Development Plan (PDP).
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in a supervisory or heavy‑vehicle operation role.
Required skills
- Driver’s Licence (Code C) for operating heavy vehicles.
- Heavy vehicle operation and maintenance.
