About the role
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join a kitchen in Knysna, located on the Garden Route. The role involves supporting the Executive Chef, managing daily kitchen operations and ensuring high standards of food preparation.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee kitchen staff and maintain a disciplined, no‑nonsense work environment.
- Manage stock rotation, conduct waste and yield analysis, and perform regular stock counts.
- Handle administrative tasks including reporting and Excel‑based inventory tracking.
- Work flexible shifts and long hours as required by service demands.
Required profile
- Minimum four consecutive years of experience as a Sous Chef.
- Young individual able to work under the supervision of the Executive Chef.
- Fluent spoken Afrikaans.
- Strong character with the ability to lead a kitchen team.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for inventory and admin reporting.
