Solutions Architect (Finance Systems)

About the role

A global investment advisory firm focused on long-term value creation is hiring a Solutions Architect for its finance systems, advertised by Parvana in Cape Town. The role sits at the intersection of enterprise architecture and finance transformation, working closely with Finance, Technology, Security and Data teams. The client offers a hybrid in-office / remote option and benefits on top of generous basic salaries.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and document current business operations and application landscapes.
• Develop architecture elements aligned with enterprise strategy and finance transformation objectives.
• Design integration patterns including APIs, middleware and event-driven architectures.
• Produce high-quality artifacts following Enterprise Architecture principles, standards and reference architectures.
• Partner with Finance, Technology, Security and Data teams to turn requirements into implementable designs.
• Define strategies for data architecture, migration and governance, ensuring data quality, security and regulatory compliance.
• Act as the main technical contact between internal teams and integration partners, and lead risk identification and mitigation.
• Present architectural decisions to governance forums and embed in delivery, guiding design, build, test and deployment.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification beneficial (e.g. Computer Science, Information Systems).
• 7+ years of IT solution architecture experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of security, risk and regulatory compliance in financial and regulated industries.
• Strategic thinker able to align architecture with enterprise goals and spot design gaps early.
• Accountable, collaborative and assertive leader who can explain complex technical concepts in business terms.

Required skills

• Enterprise integration patterns: APIs, middleware, event-driven architectures.
• Cloud architecture, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Enterprise frameworks such as TOGAF or ArchiMate.
