AI Developer

About the role

WNS, part of Capgemini, is looking for an AI Developer in Cape Town to design, build, deploy and maintain artificial intelligence solutions that solve real business challenges. You will work closely with cross-functional teams on machine learning models, generative AI applications, automation solutions and intelligent systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy AI and machine learning solutions, and build scalable AI applications and APIs
• Develop generative AI solutions using large language models (LLMs), and create chatbots, virtual assistants and intelligent automation tools
• Integrate AI into existing products, platforms and business processes
• Prepare data for model training, develop, train, test and optimise models, monitor performance and retrain them when needed
• Implement MLOps practices and ensure model accuracy, reliability, scalability and security
• Write clean, efficient code, develop backend services and APIs, take part in code reviews and troubleshoot AI system issues
• Stay current with AI advances, evaluate tools and frameworks, and take part in proof-of-concept and pilot projects
• Work with business stakeholders, data engineers, software developers and product teams, and present technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Ensure compliance with data privacy, security and regulatory requirements, document models and processes, and contribute to AI governance and risk management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology or a related field
• 3+ years of software development experience
• 2+ years of experience developing AI or machine learning solutions
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud
• Experience deploying AI applications in production, API development and integration
• Relevant certifications in AI, Machine Learning, Cloud Technologies or Data Science are advantageous

Required skills

• Python, and knowledge of JavaScript, C#, Java or similar
• AI/ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, LangChain or Hugging Face
• Large language models (LLMs) and generative AI, prompt engineering and RAG frameworks
• SQL and database technologies
• Docker and Kubernetes, MLOps and CI/CD practices
