Software Developer – IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE)

About the role

The ACE Software Developer will design and build integration solutions using IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE). The role combines strong Java development with API design to enable reliable system‑to‑system communication across HTTP, SOAP and MQ channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and re‑route integration flows in IBM ACE, creating BAR files and implementing robust exception handling.
• Design and expose REST and SOAP APIs, applying SSL/TLS and authentication standards for secure integration.
• Transform and validate data using JSON and XML, and configure policy‑based behaviours.
• Produce high‑quality, fault‑tolerant components that are maintainable, reusable and observable.
• Estimate effort, troubleshoot issues, and provide guidance to team members.
• Write documentation, unit and system test cases, and manage source‑control artefacts.
• Collaborate with designers, product owners and engineering leads to refine solutions and ensure seamless integration with other components.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional programming experience.
• Advanced Diploma or first degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience working in Agile environments and following the software development life cycle.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to produce clear technical documentation.
