Site Foreman

About the role

The Site Foreman will be based on‑site in Paarl, overseeing the day‑to‑day construction activities for TGP Construction. This full‑time position coordinates trades, supervises site teams and ensures that work is carried out safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and allocate labour, materials and equipment for each shift.
• Coordinate subcontractors and trades, monitoring progress against the project plan.
• Enforce health and safety procedures and conduct regular site inspections.
• Maintain accurate site documentation and communicate updates to project managers, suppliers and clients.
• Identify and resolve on‑site issues in real time, supporting maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Provide practical guidance on carpentry and other construction tasks.

Required profile

• Proven supervisory and leadership experience in construction, preferably as a Site Foreman or Site Supervisor.
• Hands‑on experience with heavy equipment, including safe operation and basic checks.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Practical carpentry ability and solid knowledge of general construction methods.
• Maintenance experience for tools, equipment and site infrastructure.
• Good understanding of construction safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans and specifications.
• Matric/Grade 12 qualification; a trade qualification or construction‑related certification is an advantage.
