Tradesman Aid – Building (Carpentry)

About the role

The Tradesman Aid will support the Engineering and Technical Support Services team in maintaining and upgrading hospital building infrastructure. The role involves assisting artisans with a variety of carpentry, plumbing, painting and building tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out minor maintenance tasks and emergency breakdowns, including after‑hours repairs.
• Assist with installation, alteration and repair of plant, equipment, drywall, ceilings and spray‑painting of equipment.
• Ensure tools and materials are available, control their use and keep workshop areas clear and clean.
• Take control of assigned job cards and support the Artisan Foreman/Artisan as required.
• Plan and execute décor and new installations in line with standards and regulations.

Required profile

• Ability to assist artisans in carpentry, plumbing, painting and building trades.
• Good organisational skills for tool and material control and job‑card management.
• Willingness to work on emergency breakdowns and after‑hours tasks.
