Service Technician – Automotive Repair

About the role

The Service Technician will work under the Service Manager to ensure customer satisfaction by safely and efficiently repairing and servicing motor vehicles according to manufacturer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and service vehicles following job cards and manufacturer guidelines.
• Assemble, dismantle, fit, inspect, install, remove and repair mechanical components.
• Inspect, replace and top‑up vehicle system fluids.
• Report additional work, delays or parts requirements to control and obtain authorisation.
• Enter daily time tickets and full job card details.
• Delegate tasks to helpers/RSAs and supervise apprentices.
• Maintain a clean, tidy work area and ensure tools and protective covers are used correctly.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Relevant automotive qualification and clear criminal record.
• Valid driver’s licence and own hand tools as per Toyota schedule.
• Good customer orientation and team player attitude.

Required skills

• Vehicle mechanical repair and component servicing.
• Use of hand tools and interpretation of technical service instructions.
• Fluid inspection and top‑up procedures.
• Reading and completing job cards and time tickets.
