Service Technical Support / Service Technician – Durban

About the role

The Technical Service Support Specialist provides on‑site and remote technical assistance to service providers and dealership technicians within the commercial‑vehicle network in Durban. The role ensures OEM service standards are met, supports complex field repairs, and contributes to warranty processing, quality reporting, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for fault diagnosis and repair procedures.
• Assist in delivering technical training sessions and preparing training materials.
• Collect, verify and communicate warranty and claim information to service providers.
• Gather and report product quality feedback, supporting corrective actions.
• Offer on‑site technical assistance for complex repairs, ensuring safety and OEM standards.
• Document fault cases and maintain accurate service records.

Required profile

• Automotive engineering or related technical qualification (automotive technician certificate or diesel mechanic trade test advantageous).
• Valid driver’s licence (Code 8; Code 14 advantageous).
• Minimum 3 years experience in truck or commercial‑vehicle maintenance, servicing or diagnostics.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, chassis and power‑train systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technicians, drivers, customers and internal teams.
