Senior Tax Accountant – Full Accounting & Tax Portfolio

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to manage a diverse client portfolio, handle complex SARS matters and provide high‑quality financial and tax advisory services within a professional services firm.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a full accounting and tax portfolio, producing monthly management reports.
• Perform the complete accounting cycle through to trial balance and draft annual financial statements for companies, trusts and sole proprietors using CaseWare.
• Prepare and submit income tax and VAT returns for individuals, companies, trusts and sole proprietors.
• Handle all SARS correspondence, submit objections and suspension of debt applications via eFiling, and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and travel to client sites as required.

Required profile

• Accounting Degree or Higher Diploma (non‑negotiable) and completed articles.
• 3‑5 years’ experience in an accounting firm with strong tax compliance and financial reporting exposure.
• Affiliations with SAICA, SAIPA, ACCA, CIMA or SAIBA are advantageous.
• Own reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficient use of CaseWare for financial statement preparation.
• Strong working knowledge of Pastel accounting software.
• Experience with SARS eFiling platform.
