Senior Specialist: Data Insights and Intelligence (MI/BI)

About the role

Absa is hiring a Senior Specialist in Data Insights and Intelligence (MI/BI) in Johannesburg. The SME specialist partners with business units to create value-adding campaigns and comprehensive reporting, acts as quality assurance, and delivers clear requests to the MI, BI and visualisation teams. The role turns data into insights that support informed business decisions and helps build measures that drive an optimal value management strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse trends, audience engagement and customer journeys to identify effective campaigns and optimisation opportunities.
• Manage lead generation across the Card Issuing portfolio, improve campaign performance and track and report on client campaigns and initiatives.
• Act as subject matter expert on management information and business intelligence reporting requirements, and drive standardisation of business rules and sustainable data flows.
• Create channels for ingesting new data from a range of sources and set a reporting standard across business units, working with Data Architecture, MI/BI and Data Products.
• Analyse profit, cost and process efficiency drivers, key indicators and trends, and develop knowledge of products, systems, platforms and reporting.
• Collaborate across internal data pillars on complex projects, managing deliverables, milestones, risks and issues.
• Mentor team members on data manipulation and analytical techniques, design sustainable BI solutions and oversee the implementation of development needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in Business Management and Informatics (BMI).
