Implementation Specialist - Trading and Market Data

About the role

Iress, one of Australia's largest technology companies, is hiring an Implementation Specialist for its Trading and Market Data team in Johannesburg. You will help clients implement, configure and adopt Iress software solutions, turning client requirements into practical, well-controlled solutions while working closely with internal teams and client stakeholders. Success means delivering implementations on time and within scope, resolving complex issues and helping clients get lasting value.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and configure trading and market data software in line with client requirements and Iress standards and best practices.
• Work with clients and internal stakeholders to understand requirements, shape solutions and support delivery.
• Guide clients on complex implementation and support queries, escalating risks and issues appropriately.
• Document implementation approaches, production procedures and technical solutions.
• Collaborate with product, support, sales and account management teams.
• Guide change management activities that support client adoption and value realisation.
• Troubleshoot post-implementation issues while protecting production stability, and contribute to incident response for high-severity issues.
• Share product, market and implementation knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• At least three years of experience in software implementation, technical consulting, application support or a related discipline.
• Experience delivering software implementations, preferably in fintech, trading, market data or another complex technology environment.
• Experience working directly with clients and coordinating delivery across multiple internal teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of trading platforms, market data systems and supporting technologies.
• Experience with databases, basic SQL querying, system deployment or production support.
• Understanding of application integrations, APIs and messaging technologies such as web services, SWIFT or MSMQ.
• Familiarity with the FIX protocol and financial markets technology.
• Software configuration, change management, problem diagnosis and stakeholder communication.
