Founding Product Lead - AI Developer Platform

About the role

HyperDev is looking for a Founding Product Lead to help define its AI developer platform, who it builds for and how it turns an ambitious vision into a product developers love to use. The role reports directly to the Founder and owns product strategy, customer discovery and the roadmap, working closely with engineering and design. It is a hands-on position in a small, fast-moving early-stage team.

Key responsibilities

• Set product direction with the Co-Founders, define the vision and target users, and turn it into a focused roadmap with clear prioritisation.
• Build direct relationships with developers and early customers, validate demand through interviews, prototypes and experiments, and bring customer evidence into decisions.
• Own the product journey from discovery through delivery, launch and iteration, writing clear product briefs, user journeys and acceptance criteria.
• Shape how humans and AI work together: define where AI acts independently versus where people intervene, and partner with engineering on AI workflows, transparency, security and code ownership.
• Measure outcomes across activation, engagement, retention and conversion, set up lightweight analytics, and test pricing, packaging and go-to-market approaches.
• Help build the founding team and culture, including hiring and developing product and design capabilities.

Required profile

• Experience taking a software product or major product area from early idea through launch and iteration.
• Track record of owning product decisions and delivering measurable customer or business outcomes.
• Hands-on experience with customer discovery, prioritisation and close collaboration with engineering and design.
• Strong technical fluency: able to discuss APIs, integrations, architecture and engineering trade-offs with developers.
• Practical experience building or shipping AI-powered products, with an understanding of LLM capabilities and limitations.
• Ability to move work forward independently in an early-stage environment with evolving priorities.
• Preferred: founder or founding product hire experience, developer tools or technical SaaS background, software engineering or technical product management background, familiarity with TypeScript, React, Python, LLM APIs, RAG or agent workflows, product-market fit and pricing experience, and experience hiring a small product team.
