Senior Operations Manager – Northern Cape Region

About the role

Komatsu South Africa is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to lead its operations across the Northern Cape region, covering the Kathu, Sishen, Khumani and Kolomela sites. The role combines strategic planning, customer relationship management and technical service oversight to ensure profitable and high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and translate organisational goals into actionable business plans for the region.
• Manage, develop and lead employees, ensuring performance and safety standards.
• Plan, monitor and control monetary resources, including budgeting for staff, tools and assets.
• Oversee contracts and supplier relationships, negotiate key account agreements and support product sales.
• Provide product and application support, approve technical service budgets and lead quality of service delivery.
• Analyse re‑work, credit notes and resolve complex customer queries.
• Manage supply chain functions: inventory, warehousing, distribution of units and parts, and emergency stock orders.
• Monitor depot metrics such as profitability, service quality and inventory levels, and prepare financial reports.
• Gather operational data from branches, consolidate financial reporting and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• B.Tech or B.Eng degree in Mining, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (NQF 7).
• Minimum 10 years experience in the mining industry, servicing Tier 1 mining customers.
• At least 5 years experience in a senior operational management role.
