Senior Labour Relations Officer

About the role

The Senior Labour Relations Officer will oversee the implementation of labour‑relations policies and processes within Goldfields TVET. This role ensures proper handling of disciplinary cases, grievances, misconduct investigations, collective bargaining, and litigation outcomes while maintaining sound employment relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and implement labour‑relations guidelines, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
• Oversee misconduct case processes and collective bargaining negotiations.
• Represent the employer in litigation matters and monitor implementation of outcomes.
• Maintain and monitor PERSAL and related databases for grievances, disputes, misconduct and collective bargaining records.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate or equivalent, plus a Degree/Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Labour Relations, Employment Relations, HR Management or related field.
• Minimum three years’ experience in Labour Relations or Human Resource Management.
• Computer literate with a valid driver’s licence.
• Strong verbal and written communication, report‑writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality and operate both independently and within a team.
