Senior Investment Accountant

About the role

Join a well‑established investment‑focused business where you will play a key role in the accounting, reporting and administration of investment entities and related structures. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, gaining exposure to fund accounting, regulatory compliance and financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the month‑end close process and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and board reporting packs.
• Perform fund accounting activities, including investment transaction processing, reconciliations and NAV calculations.
• Maintain accurate accounting records for investment vehicles and related entities.
• Reconcile bank accounts, investment portfolios and cash positions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and annual audits.
• Manage VAT, tax and statutory compliance requirements.
• Monitor treasury activities, cash flow requirements and liquidity forecasts.
• Drive process improvements, reporting enhancements and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in investment accounting, fund accounting or a related environment.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
• BCom Accounting or equivalent; completed audit articles (CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA or similar).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with accounting systems.
• Experience with investment reporting platforms.
