Senior Consultant – ESG Assurance (Sustainability)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Consultant to lead ESG assurance engagements, helping clients enhance the quality and credibility of their sustainability reporting. The role combines non‑financial audit work with advisory on ESG disclosures, leveraging Deloitte’s global network while working from Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Perform non‑financial assurance on clients’ ESG reports and sustainability information.
• Develop service delivery plans in collaboration with partners and managers.
• Identify ESG risks and provide concrete advice to clients.
• Audit complex ESG items and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Draft and review sustainability reporting processes for integrated reporting and audit readiness.
• Build strong relationships with clients and contribute to proposal development.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (CA(SA) or ACCA).
• Minimum 3 years of audit or similar experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ESG reporting standards and regulatory environment.
• Proficiency in assurance audit methodology for sustainability disclosures.
