Senior Civil Site Agent

About the role

Amandla Building & Construction is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Site Agent to lead a major road and bridge infrastructure project in the North West Region. The role oversees planning, execution, quality, safety and commercial performance, ensuring full compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and coordinate all road and bridge construction activities in line with the project programme and specifications.
• Lead site engineers, foremen, surveyors, subcontractors, plant operators and labour teams.
• Ensure works comply with approved drawings, South African construction regulations and quality standards.
• Develop short‑term and long‑term construction programmes to meet milestones.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Manage resources – labour, plant, equipment, materials and subcontractors – to maximise productivity.
• Oversee bridge works including earthworks, foundations, piling, reinforced concrete, structural elements and drainage.
• Supervise road works such as layerworks, pavement, stormwater systems, kerbing and surfacing.
• Maintain strict Occupational Health and Safety compliance and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Implement QA/QC procedures, material approvals, inspections and testing.

Required profile

• Proven track record in large‑scale civil infrastructure projects, especially roadworks and bridge construction.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary site teams and subcontractors.
• In‑depth knowledge of South African construction regulations and safety legislation.
• Ability to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.
