Senior Back-End Developer

About the role

Labournet is seeking a Senior Back‑End Developer to join its technology team in Johannesburg. You will work on Java‑based payroll and HR solutions, ensuring high‑quality code and secure, maintainable applications.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Design, develop and maintain Java EE applications using Java SE 8 and Spring.
• Write clean, efficient code and conduct code reviews for team members.
• Collaborate with front‑end developers (Angular, CSS, JavaScript) to deliver integrated features.
• Schedule product releases and document development phases.
• Ensure applications are secure, up‑to‑date and support incident resolution.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional software development experience in Java.
• 2–3 years of experience with MS SQL databases.
• 4+ years using Java EE frameworks, preferably Spring.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field.
