Seasonal Customer Assistant

About the role

Leroy Merlin South Africa is hiring a Seasonal Customer Assistant for a 28-hour, 3-month fixed-term contract in Centurion, Pretoria. The role contributes to the store's success by giving customers accurate information, resolving queries efficiently and delivering an excellent customer experience, while supporting daily store operations and building strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers, give information on products and services through various channels, resolve queries and build strong customer relationships.
• Manage the cash desk accurately, including processing orders, exchanges and refunds, and giving cash back on returned goods while recording all transactions.
• Onboard customers to the loyalty programme, recommend additional products and keep waiting times low.
• Follow internal control procedures and till policies and keep accurate transaction records.
• Work with other departments on returned goods and escalate risks or issues to management promptly.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric (essential).
• Retail sales experience and the ability to spot and act on upselling opportunities.
• Practical experience handling cash desk transactions such as cash, refunds and exchanges with full accuracy.
• Strong communication skills, clear and empathetic.
• Ability to work well in a team.
