Sales Engineer – Power Systems

About the role

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for a Sales Engineer to join its team in Centurion, South Africa. You will help utilities, industrial customers and renewable energy developers build smarter, safer and more reliable power systems. The role suits people with a background in electrical engineering, technical sales, power systems, solar, wind or energy storage.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with SEL customers and channel partners.
• Understand customers' true requirements and objectives, then determine, communicate and deliver the optimal SEL solution.
• Build and maintain knowledge of all SEL products and teach customers about SEL technology and innovation.
• Develop, maintain and deliver quarterly order forecasts and sales goals.
• Collect, analyse and report industry, competitor and customer trends to the wider SEL organisation.
• Work with customers to resolve feedback and product issues.
• Liaise between customers, contracts and risk, and accounts receivable to support commercial relationships.
• Use business tools to track customer relationships, opportunities and sales activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in an electrical engineering or technical sales environment.
• Able to travel.
• Ability to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
