Sales Assistant – Leather Store, Canalwalk

About the role

All Leather is hiring an entry-level Sales Assistant for its store in Canalwalk shopping centre. The role helps customers find quality leather products and keeps the shop tidy and welcoming. It is a full-time position where you are the first point of contact for shoppers and help meet daily sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and help them choose products
• Explain different leather types and product care
• Process sales accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system
• Handle returns, exchanges and lay-bays according to store policy
• Keep the sales floor clean, organised and well displayed
• Restock shelves and display areas
• Help with opening and closing procedures

Required profile

• Ability to work full-time, including weekends and public holidays
• Basic numeracy for handling cash and calculating change
• Friendly, helpful attitude and reliable transport to Canalwalk
• No experience needed; previous retail experience is useful
• Minimum ShiftMate assessment score of 70%

The employer is confidential until the trial shift is confirmed. The start date is 12 October 2026, with a trial-to-hire arrangement and a monthly salary of R6 500.
