SAIPA Clerk / Trainee Accountant (Bedfordview)

About the role

This position offers a hands‑on SAIPA internship for an accounting student in the Bedfordview area. You will support the finance team of a multinational financial services firm, gaining exposure to core accounting, payroll and tax compliance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and reconcile bank statements and accounts.
• Prepare monthly invoices and manage debtor/creditor control.
• Compile income statements, balance sheets and month‑end journal entries.
• Process monthly payroll, calculate PAYE and UIF, and submit related filings.
• Handle SARS e‑filing for EMP501, IRP5, VAT, PAYE and income tax returns.
• Register and update taxpayers on U‑Filing and SARS portals.
• Obtain tax clearance certificates and liaise with the SARS call centre.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting degree (in progress or completed).
• Own car with a valid driver’s licence.
• Excellent communication in English and Afrikaans.
• Strong academic record and passion for accounting.
• Preference for candidates residing on the East of Johannesburg.
