Restaurant Hostess / Floor Manager

About the role

Upmarket casual dining cafe‑style restaurant in Bedfordview is looking for a Hostess / Floor Manager. The role involves overseeing the dining floor, managing bookings, seating guests and ensuring high service standards. It is a permanent position with evening and weekend shifts and offers a salary of R10‑14 k per month.

Key responsibilities

• Manage reservations and seat guests efficiently throughout service periods.
• Supervise wait staff, coordinate table turnover and maintain consistent service standards.
• Oversee floor operations, including handling customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Ensure the dining area is presented to up‑market standards and that all health and safety procedures are followed.
• Work closely with kitchen and management to optimise service flow during peak periods.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a hostess or in restaurant management within an up‑market environment.
• Excellent communication and customer‑relation skills, with a polished and well‑spoken demeanor.
• Self‑motivated, ambitious and able to work independently while leading a team.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant schedule.
