Resident Engineer / Team Leader

About the role

Sheladia Associates is looking for an experienced Resident Engineer/Team Leader to oversee a road improvement project in the Caribbean. The role involves design review, construction supervision, and contract administration under FIDIC guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve contractor designs, drawings, materials and workmanship.
• Supervise construction activities, ensuring safety and minimal disruption to road users.
• Administer construction contracts, enforce quality and quantity provisions.
• Monitor and enforce technical policies across all road sections.
• Evaluate contractor procurement plans and provide recommendations.
• Lead Sheladia’s field staff and produce monthly progress reports.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional qualification (Project Management, Construction Management, PE, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent).
• 20 years overall experience, with at least 15 years in the sector.
• 10 years of road construction supervision and design‑review experience.
• Proven track record as Team Leader/Resident Engineer on major road or bridge projects funded by multilateral agencies.
