Research Architect

About the role

We are looking for a Research Architect to lead the discovery and curation of cutting‑edge architectural knowledge within SAOTA/ARRCC. The role combines deep technical expertise with a passion for innovation to support our design teams and enhance our knowledge assets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate the latest materials, technologies and systems in architecture and design.
• Translate emerging trends into actionable insights and integrate them into the company’s knowledge library.
• Maintain up‑to‑date industry standards, regulations, statistics and competitive intelligence.
• Collaborate with the Resource Centre and internal studios to validate suppliers, manufacturers and research sources.
• Produce and share research findings through manuals, guidelines, templates and global communications.
• Conduct focused research on architectural theory, history, sustainability and design practice.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Architecture with at least 5 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Strong technical understanding of architectural materials, elements and systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to create well‑referenced documents using structured templates.
• Professional, accountable, resource‑ful and able to handle confidential information.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and passionate about sustainability and technology.
