About the role
Hillcrest Hospital is recruiting a Registered Nurse for its Theatre department. The nurse provides cost-effective, safe and high-quality patient care in line with hospital standards and policies, acting as a clinical resource and leader in the specialty with advanced competence and consistency.
Required profile
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
- Relevant qualification in a specialist area (advantageous)
- 2 to 5 years of work experience in Theatre
- Experience in Cath Lab, Ophthalmic Surgery, Neuro Plastic Surgery, GI Unit and Recovery (essential)
- Experience in private healthcare or healthcare funding (advantageous)
- Compliance with the SANC code and applicable health care legislation
Required skills
- Computer literacy (essential)
- Fluent English (essential)
- Ability to apply critical thinking and judgement across variable situations and anticipate complications
- Sound knowledge of costs, cost containment, stock usage and accurate item charging
- Support and supervision of staff within the department
