About the role
Are you a compassionate and dedicated person looking to make a meaningful impact in mental health? The Mondia HealthCare Group is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Mondia Sunnyside facility in Gqeberha/Port Elizabeth, reporting to the Unit Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver safe, quality nursing care according to the scope of practice.
- Assess, observe, monitor and communicate patient health and behaviour to the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide a safe and supportive physical and psychological environment.
- Manage and educate patients about prescribed medication.
- Support patients with therapy interventions during their daily schedule.
- Facilitate patient compliance with therapy activities and daily schedule.
- Demonstrate awareness of the Mental Healthcare Act No 17 of 2002.
Required profile
- Diploma or degree in General Nursing Science with a focus on Psychiatry.
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Experience in a mental health environment (advantageous).
- Experience or knowledge in substance use disorders.
