Regional Security Manager (Gauteng)

About the role

The company is looking for an experienced and motivated person to join its Security team as Regional Security Manager, based in Gauteng. The successful applicant will manage the Gauteng Security Department and provide security services to the Group.

Key responsibilities

• Asset protection and risk management: prevent and stop theft and fraud, oversee asset protection and implement regular audits and comprehensive risk management strategies.
• Security operations management: implement, optimise and ensure compliance of the Gauteng and Mpumalanga Security Department with security protocols, and manage the department and its security contracting companies.
• Incident response and investigation: identify and resolve security breaches, respond rapidly to incidents and emergencies, investigate incidents and report findings.
• Technology and innovation: keep up with new technologies to mitigate security risks and inspect security equipment daily.
• Financial management: control and monitor security-related expenses and provide cost-effective security solutions.
• Stakeholder engagement: liaise with SAPS, third-party security companies and management, and give regular updates on security status and potential problems.
• Administration and compliance: handle administrative processes, send reports to management and keep Second-Hand Goods licences up to date and correctly displayed.

Required profile

• PSIRA Grade A registration (compulsory).
• Minimum 6 years of senior managerial experience.
• Tertiary qualification in security management or equivalent.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
• Advantageous: previous experience in a manufacturing, logistics or industrial environment.
• Experience in risk identification and analysis, CCTV monitoring, investigations and reporting.
• Conversant with the Second-hand Goods Act 6 of 2009 and other relevant legislation.
