Regional Manager: Fleet

About the role

Absa is looking for a Regional Manager: Fleet in Johannesburg to lead sustainable regional growth and protect the value of the existing customer portfolio, with an equally weighted focus on business development and customer relationship management. The role is accountable for new business acquisition, customer retention, share of wallet, revenue growth and profitability, and leads a team of Business Development and Customer Relationship Consultants. It covers the regional customer lifecycle from prospecting and acquisition through onboarding, relationship deepening, service recovery, renewal and retention.

Key responsibilities

• Translate the AVMS strategy into a regional sales and customer growth plan with clear segment, production, revenue and profitability priorities.
• Build and maintain a balanced regional pipeline across Corporate, SME and Public Sector markets, and lead the team through the full sales lifecycle.
• Own the health, retention and growth of the regional customer portfolio, including relationship plans, business reviews and service recovery.
• Identify and convert cross-sell, upsell, renewal and fleet expansion opportunities.
• Lead, coach and performance manage a regional team of consultants, set targets and build capability in consultative selling, fleet and leasing solutions and negotiation.
• Maintain a consolidated regional view of pipeline, portfolio performance, profitability, retention risk and service trends, and ensure accurate forecasting and CRM discipline.
• Coordinate Credit, Risk, Product, Operations, Finance, Legal and Customer Relations stakeholders, and represent the customer's voice in improvement forums.
• Ensure compliance with Absa policies, delegated authorities and regulatory requirements, and manage customer data in line with POPIA.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce and Management Studies (required).
• Professional qualifications.
